Welcome to the Brighmoon Faire Grounds. We are happy you have come to enjoy the biggest little show on the face of Azeroth (better then the Darkmoons anyway.) We have performers! We have vendors! We have fortune tellers! ... pay no mind to the shady fellow by the tree, he is not looking at your coin purse at all ---- Come have an ale!

NOW HIRING:
Performers! We need fire breathers, jugglers, fortune tellers, tale spinners, freaks and geeks! bring us your best!

OOC:

Founded on January 20th 2009, Brightmoon Faire is one of the oldest and most stable role play guilds on the Wyrmrest Accord server.

We
provide a fun, friendly and developed social environment for a variety of players.  New players can find knowledge from experienced members while experinced players can find secure events and RP.

Our primary focus is to promote public RP through planned events and through support of various community events. We are firm belevers on the golden rule: RP is where you make it, and encourage all of our members to RP whenever and wherever they want.

Get2No ur Lindiwe

Lindiwe forced conned convinced me to do her portion of the OOC interview-series that is rawkin' the Faire's news, because she can't really interview herself. What transpired is posted below in RAW, UNEDITED, HARDCORE JOURNALISTIC FASHION.

But really... give it up for the woman behind the curtain, Lindiwe.Oh yeh, and I am pink 'cuz I'm manly, and she is orange because Droooooooood

So. Question NUMERO UNO. How long have you been playing, and how many of Blizz's remarkably similar servers have you visited?

Hrm. We just talked about this the other day, and yet I can't remember what I told you. 2006? I think that is when I started. And the server I rolled on was Chromaggus. A pvp server. Nice way to start your first WoW experince eh? I was okay with it really, I love pvp. I had a lvl 40 lock on there, gnome lock. She was adorable.

But I soon heard about this new thing Blizz was doing called RP-PvP servers, and made my next toon on Maelstrom. That was Lindiwe, Nelf hunter. She was my main for EVER, up until last year actually. I rolled on a few servers after, just checking things out; toons on Emerald Dream, Proudmoore, Moon Guard, Sentenels and lastly Kirin Tor.

On Kirin Tor I got on with a guild named "Carnaval". It was the 2nd incarnation of the Faire from my understanding. And so I started to level Tauren Lindiwe, till one day I logged in to find the guild disbanded. Then guild lead, Talmai, told me that everyone was re-rolling on this new server called Wyrmrest Accord. And well... there you have it.

Man, been all over. Lessee... where should I start. We'll go with the Faire. Clearly you have been with 'em for a long time... are we your only large-scale (haha) RP guild or have you had others? If so, the Faire is CLEARLY THE BEST, AMIRITE?

The only other guild I was in before the faire was on Maelstrom. Court of the Ruby Grail. They fancied themselves a light RP guild, and they were... but focused more on PvE. 300 and some members, all wanting to raid! Not really my cuppa, you know? The faire I have been with since the beginning. And yes... it has been my only heavy RP guild.

Heavy Raid Progression, amirite? AMI? But for-reals, we have been getting into the FITANS recently... how you feel about our kickin' names and takin' ass?

The PvE? Or the PvP? What are you talking about?

...Urabad. The PvE. Raid. Progressionnnnnn.

Well, I wanted to be sure. Um, I like it. I know that we are doing the easier to do stuff right now, but we are seeing some of the content and doing good at it, so I am proud of our little RP guild for being able to do it! I would like to make a way for us to do it ICly, but... in time. I keep getting distracted. Also... you know how much I am a WHO-ORE for the epeen points.

Mind you, I can only do so much PvE and then I want to poke my eyes out.

PvE isn't the smoothest creme on one's bagel out there... If you catch my drift ... :|
But anyway... what do you feel we do best? The guild as a whole. I know I have seen a lot of improvement, but what gives us the strength to get out there with the big boys?

We are the big boys.

...Now c'mon... don't give me that bull. Just because you play a tauren...

You are not even funny. NOT EVEN A BIT.

Hrm, honestly though, ask around... when it comes to RP you might hear BMF's name dropped a few times. We do do fun RP the best. Not that serious business stuff... but honest light hearted fun. I mean, we have and can do more serious storylines, but I like to think the job of the faire as.. giving a base for people to make RP happen for their own aharacter, instead of having to rely on a storyline of a guild with a lot of people.

Maybe that dosen't make sense. But.. anyway, the faires purpose is to get socail with other RPers, you know? I think that is part of our sucsess, making it easy to do that.

I do love our guild, and its fantastic leadership. *stares*
On to you as a person. What do YOU enjoy doing? In game, out of game, whatevs floats ya bowt.

Well. In game I enjoy to RPINGS. RP all the time. There is no such thing as OCC in MY Warcraft. Otherwise I do love a little lot of PvP. I sometimes miss Maelstrom cause of the world PvP.

Um. IRL. Lets see... I enjoy drinking large amounts of coffee. I draw a bit. I was playing DnD for a while, but I dropped my BAD BAD group. I do like acting, and have done a bit of that. Juggling with fire... knitting. Reading (fantasy mostly). Writing, I do that sometimes too. Cooking. Shit.. I enjoy doing a lot of stuff. OH! And video games.

Barrel of fun, aren't you? The acting and the fire... that impresses me. I remember your HORRIBAD TERRIBLE GROUP for DnD... is too bad we could never get that BMF DND group going.
Tell the fine people about your household, if you would be so kind. I know what kind of a mess that can be...

Huh? Repeat the question.

...You are killing me. Tell me about everyone in your house, I know there's a lot.

INVASIVE. Kidding. Usually there is just three people in the house, Me and Richard, and Dallas. Richard and I both play the 'Craft, actually he is the one who got me started. Dallas used to play but can't seem to get into it (only likes the character creation, you know?) But, right now there is Richard sister and her deadbeat boyfriend and thier 6 year old living with us, and it makes my want to punch kittens in the throat.

Ahh fun. Well then, what do you do to get away? I know I would just LOVE to be trapped in a house with TOO MANY PEOPLE.

Dallas is out of the house for most of the day; usually there is enough room in the house that the 3 of us can co-exisit with out killing each other. I mean... we live in a 4 level split. That is a level and a third for each of us. At one point, we all had our own bathrooms.

Lately, I go for walks down by the river. We have a good dog park down there. Otherwise, we just LEAVE. All three of us drive so thats not a big deal.

OOOH ANIMULZ. Tell me about them. NAO.

You know I have TOO MANY. 5 cats, one dog and one ferret. Also right now 2 additional dogs we are fostering cause... well bad stuff happened and we are trying to get them a home. EACH AND EVERY ANIMAL IN OUR HOUSE CAME TO US BY ACCEDENT.  Except the dog, that is actually Dallas's.

Let's see, Kitara and The Don Richard and I got when we bought our first house and the owners left them there. Se we kept them. Demon (my cat, he is my 25 pound black baby) I got from my short job at the animal shelter, they were going to put him down and I was like NOOOOO! *snatch*. Gudzyick, another cat, we got when I worked on a farm, he got injured and I brought him home to fix him and he just stayed. Lastly in the cat department there is the newest addition Kitty Boo, a close relative passed away and we took him. The ferret (our  5th ferret) Faith, was my scab sisters... and she couldn't take care of her.

...Wow. .......Wow. ...And speaking of Cat, and iz 4 fite, tell me about your characters.

Kay.
Lindiwe/Lindie - She is my tauren druid, runs the faire sometimes. First 80 I had. Has herself a little husband, and tries to have a harem. Right now she is tanky/healy spec... but I miss my kitty dps SO MUCH. Lindie is her GNOME disguise.

Lyir - She was my project in crazy. Lyir is a severly patrotic, OCD, seiral killer. She still is actually. But I think she hides it well. Second 80, and a rogue. Never thought I could have so much fun killing things mericlessly in arenas.

Kekona - This is the Alliance "Lindiwe" race changed to Kek. Older troll hunter, dosen't speak Orcish and is trying to make her way in a much different world then she began in. She is my current RP challange character and almost to 80.

Linlin - Bank alt, but I still RP her. Not-all-there forsaken. I like to troll SMC and bug people on her. She is fun.

Kazandra version one - She was an Orc. Death Knight. Really loopy (I am starting to see a pattren here) She was a fire breather for the faire, and she mystriously vanished (read: I baleeted her cause it wasn't working out between us.)

Kazandra version two - Night Elf preist, she is the reincanation of the Lindiwe I played on Maelstrom. Hopeless drunk, gambling problem, pirate. Also quite mean.

SECRET CHARACTER - I have this one in the works. A jaded individual who is much like Lind, but... still different. I will release her onto you all soon enough.

Lucinda - This will be my Goblin. ......... she will be a private detective. Thats all I got.

Wow. Big pool. Got a favourite or do you just take them as they come? And on that note, how do you create your characters? Do you have a SPEESHUL PROCESS?

Yes, I do have a favorite. Lindiwe. She is by far the one I identify with the most and I love to play the most. And everyone loves her so... that makes it easy.

As for process I have gone through several. Usually I get an idea in my head, and then build on it. But... each character that you see up there started of differently, the only connection they have is that they have ONE of my personality traits to the EXTREME. Makes it easy to play them, and interesting. But yeh, they are all me. I am all them. It is good.

But yeah, they all start differently. Lind was a whim, I wanted a tauren female cause I think they are beautiful. Lyir was cause me and you went to eff-around on your old server. Kaz was nostelgia, SECRET CHARACTER was cause I needed something to do, Kek was made after I did a quest in the EPL (WPL?) And Lucinda, cause goblins are AWESOME. PLEASURE PALACE.

You really do like that pleasure palace thing, eh? Well then, tell me your thoughts on Cata. Best thing? Worst thing? Can't-wait-for thing?

Oh man. Pleasure palace! SWAN DIVE!

Cata I think when all is said and done will be fantastic. I mean, they are not just making an expansion, they are changing the entire game! And really, I think that although WoW hasn't run past its shelf life yet, the time was coming. Cata is going to be a whole new game. I have always been a fan of Blizzard games (started with Lost Vikings), and I will continue to be even if they do stupid things sometimes. *coughrealidonforumscough*

The best thing right now I am looking forward to is the changing world; if they play thier cards right it is going to be amazing for RP and character development. The worst thing? Worgen. I played them at Blizzcon last year and they made me seasick. And they just... I hate them. Everything about them, even the lore. Worgen druids make me rage so hard I can't even SEE straight.

PASSIONS RUN HIGH IN THE BRIGHTMOON TENT.
Lesse... just a few more things, then, and I will release you from my CLEAR TORMENT.
PvP or PvE? If you had to do one RITE NAO... And why. This is an english question, punk.

PvP. Always.

I SAID WHY, TOO, PUNK.

..... Cause PvP is the be all and end all. In the end, PvE is always the same. Predictable. Easy to get strats off the net and gather a group of people who got the same strats and have thier cookie cutter OMGDPSSPEC. In PvP, you cannot always predict the human behind the toon. It will always be a challenge.

I agree with you so much right there, you don't even know. Okay,

Yes I do.

Shut up. I was typan...

I WRECK UR TYPANS.

You make me sad in ways I can't even describe.

But... but.... <3?

Yeah yeah, <3 you too. Anyway... favourite zone in the game?

Hmm. Eastren Plaugelands. I have always loved them. They put a lot of thought and a lot of detail into those... (I am picking WPL too actually) and I used to spend HOURS there in vanilla. I loved it so much.

Andorhol is still a beautiful place to me... so is Caer Darrow. One last question... Favourite RP event. Doesn't have to be ours.

Back on my old server, we did an event where... well pacer group. It had an elder who brought us young adventure-types out and taught us the lore of certain areas. I really liked that. It was like story circle, but MOBILE. If I had a character that did that type of thing, I would totally do it here. Otherwise I do love all our events, my personal favorite of the faire was the great Talmai heist of '09.

Oh god I remember that. Back when Ast was a proper Paladin. :| But anyway... any last words for the gizzild?

I am so happy with the way the guild is going. It is increadibly hard to keep RP guilds a float for more then a year, and we are still going strong. I hope that I get to see it go through many more birthdays! Love you guys.

Tune in sometime within the next 2 to 54 weeks for our next installment, and as a bonus, watch the comments on the side for Galb's hatred of our posting speed!
See you, space cowboy

Oh look, Zoj'van!

Posted by LindiweJuly 15, 2010 at 5:05 pm
((Part of a series of interviews for people to get to know faire characters IC'ly, Eiluned had a chat with Zoj'van first! Enjoy!))

You're very new to the Faire, yes? How has the experience been?

"It be good so far, mon. You people been nice, and dere be lots of people tah be pickpocketing at events. Not any of dah Carnies, of course."

Gotten into any fights yet?

"Eh... not really mon."

Oh, that's a pity. Nothing like a good fight to get the respect to stop being "the new guy".

"Why fight when ah could just be slipping some of dah poison in someone's beer?"

That's a good way to piss the carnies off, I'd say. ...I hear your into knives. Got a lucky one?

(At this point Zoj'van pulls out an old, rusted throwing dagger.)
"Dis knife be with me since Stranglethorn, mon. She be killing dozens of humans. Den ah be throwing her one day, and ah missed. She be ending up in dah ocean. Be taking me three hours ta fish her out."

That's the end of the story?

"Ja, mon. When ah fished her out, she be too rusted tah be killing anymore. Ah could be throwing her, be shankin' with her, dat be a damn good knife mon...."

Sorry, it sounded like you were going to say you avoided some grim fate thanks to being gone those three hours, Or at least, that's what always happens in stories.

"Dat happened later, mon."

What do you think of out illustrious and debonair Ringmaster?

"Dat Astenya mon? He be great, mon."
(Following words were obscured by coughing and could not be recorded.)

If you had a magic wand that made pies whenever you want, what filling would you want it to make assuming it can only ever make one kind of filling?

"Oh, dat be easy mon. Gnome"
(Roj'van grins quite eagerly at this.)

Why is it always gnomes with trolls?

"Because gnomes be delicious, mon! And easy tah catch!"

I'd assume they taste like grease and copper.

"No, dey be sweet and mustardy."

Why does easy to catch matter for something that can make what you really want most on command?

"Gnomes still be delicious, mon."
(At this point Zoj'van pulls a small haunch of meat from his pack and begins to chew on it.)

Now it's time for you to say anything you'd like

"Ja, why da uniform be a dress?"

It's a robe. A revealing, pink robe.

"Dat be a dress."
(It was at this point that the troll's raptor mount returned to us with an Orgrimmar grunt in its jaws. The beast dumped the orc near us, then ran off again, with several angry guards pursuing. Zoj'van fled at this point, while this author tended to and revived the grunt, helping to keep the Brightmoon Faire name in good stead.)

I think we broke it.

BMF did our weekly, RAV (HAND IT IN!!!) and then tried a little Lev hardmode.

Let's just say... it was hard.

Hang in there guys, we will try again! Remember to look in the PvE section for the fight review.
